Nolder Dennis

Dennis Nolder passed away on the 25th April 2000.  Dennis was born on the 16th January 1925.

He came to Fairbridge Molong in 1938, with his sister Mavis, who is still alive.

Dennis was the eldest of the siblings by 2 years.

This was the 2nd party to arrive with 29 children.. The ship was the S.S. Oronsay.

Mavis Nolder has given an audio interview for the National Library ,Canberra , which is traumatic. The whole story she gives of life at Fairbridge for her in the 40″s and 50″s is troubling.

Dennis also served with the Australian Regular Army for a period.

About The Phantom

Came to Fairbridge Molong in 1957 and began immediately as a farm trainee. I was 15 yrs old. I loved the work, but found it very lonely and the bullying was awful. Billy Gelson saved me many times in Orange cottage from beatings. I loved this man. I have had a successful life with a wife who died in 2003. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Life has been a challenge since Maureen died.. Brian K OF
