Roughley James Allen

James Roughley passed away on the 19th  January 1982.

He came to the Fairbridge Farm at Molong in 1947.

This was the 1st postwar party of 27 children.

A film was made of the parties arrival by the Commonwealth Govt.           The ship was the SS Ormonde.

His brother John who died in 1984, also came to the Farm School in 1940.

Another brother Edward remained in England. Edward is also now deceased.

About The Phantom

Came to Fairbridge Molong in 1957 and began immediately as a farm trainee. I was 15 yrs old. I loved the work,but found it very lonely and the bullying was awful. Billy Gelson saved me many times in Orange cottage from beatings. I loved this man. I have had a successful life with a wife who died in 2003. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Life has been a challenge since Maureen died.. Brian K OF
