Shakoff Mrs Dorothy Jean ( nee Ellis)

Dorothy passed away on the 14th October 1991. Dorothy came to Fairbridge Molong in October 1957.

The party of 20 children came on the SS Arcadia. One of the escorts was Ruth Cleary, the daughter of the late NSW Railway Commissioner.

Dorothy has 2 brothers, Paul and Micheal Ellis, also one sister Janet, (Jan) who now  lives in Orange and is a member of the OFA Committee. Micheal Ellis was a talent on the Rugby Field at Fairbridge.

Dorothy”s siblings all came to Molong in 1954.

About The Phantom

Came to Fairbridge Molong in 1957 and began immediately as a farm trainee. I was 15 yrs old. I loved the work,but found it very lonely and the bullying was awful. Billy Gelson saved me many times in Orange cottage from beatings. I loved this man. I have had a successful life with a wife who died in 2003. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Life has been a challenge since Maureen died.. Brian K OF
