Robert Neave of Dubbo, passed away on the 26th November 1999. Aged 59

He arrived at Fairbridge Molong in 1953, with his brother James, on the ship Mooltan.   This was just a small party of 5 children, which was unusual.  A bigger party arrived later in the year.

Loved husband of Jeannette, father and step father of Keith, Steven, Jennifer, Graeme, Andrew, Monique and partners. A loving grandfather to their families.

Robert had a tough time at Fairbridge from bullying and has been described as being a gentle soul.

Robert also served with the Australian Regular Army for a period.

About The Phantom

Came to Fairbridge Molong in 1957 and began immediately as a farm trainee. I was 15 yrs old. I loved the work, but found it very lonely and the bullying was awful. Billy Gelson saved me many times in Orange cottage from beatings. I loved this man. I have had a successful life with a wife who died in 2003. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Life has been a challenge since Maureen died.. Brian K OF
