Cook John William (Jack )

John  Cook of Warilla NSW, passed away on the  16th March 1978. John was aged 49.

He came to Fairbridge Molong with his brother, Thomas and sisters, Margaret and Mary. They arrived in August 1940 in a party of 30 children. This was the last party until after the war and they came via Canada.

Beloved husband of Joyce Cook, father and father in law of Michael and Pauline, Maureen, Sharon and Peter Ellis. Steven, Judith and Arthur Green.

Thomas his brother died in 2003.

About The Phantom

Came to Fairbridge Molong in 1957 and began immediately as a farm trainee. I was 15 yrs old. I loved the work,but found it very lonely and the bullying was awful. Billy Gelson saved me many times in Orange cottage from beatings. I loved this man. I have had a successful life with a wife who died in 2003. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Life has been a challenge since Maureen died.. Brian K OF
